Sister Catherine speaks of her unity with God in the following terms

"I am where I was before I was created: that place is purely God and God. There are neither angels nor saints, nor choir, nor this nor that. Many people speak of eight heavens and of nine choirs. They are not where I am. You should know that everything stated in such a way and presented to people in images is but an incitement to seek God. Realise that in God is nothing but God. You must also understand that no soul may come unto God before it has become God as it was before it was created. No one may come into the naked Godhead except the one who is naked as he was when he flowed out of God. The masters say that no one may enter here as long as he has any attachment to lower things, even if it is only as much as the tip of a needle can carry." (Sister Catherine Treatise: Trans Elvira Borgstaedt. Paulist Press 1986)

Ego

Reality is simply the loss of ego.
Destroy the ego by seeking its identity.
Because the ego is not a real entity
it will automatically vanish
and reality will shine forth by itself.

Sri Ramakrishna on Karma

"It is said in the scriptures that only those who have been charitable in their former births get money in this life. But to tell you the truth, this world is God's maya. And there are many confusing things in this realm of maya. One cannot comprehend them.

God has revealed to me that only the Paramatman, whom the Vedas describe as the Pure Soul, is immutable, like Mount Sumeru, unattached, and beyond pain and pleasure. There is much confusion in this world of His maya. One can by no means say that "this" will come after "that" or "this" will produce "that"."

Jay Devi Maa!!!

Spiritual Life

The great mystic Teresa of Avila was complaining to God in prayer about all the trials and tribulations she had to go through.

God answered her prayer and said to her: "This is how I treat my friends". Teresa answered: "That's why you have so few of them!"

Kali Devi

"I am Great Nature, consciousness, bliss, the quintessence, devotedly praised. Where I am, there are no Brahma, Hara, Shambhu or other devas, nor is there creation, maintenance or dissolution. Where I am, there is no attachment, happiness, sadness, liberation, goodness, faith, atheism, guru or disciple."

Rabi'a

Once upon a time Rabi'a fasted, prayed and stayed awake for seven days and nights. Then somebody brought her a bowl of food. Rabi'a accepted it, and went to find a lamp- but when she came back with the lamp she saw that a cat had knocked over the bowl. "So I'll drink water instead, " she said to herself, and went to find the water-jug - but by the time she came back with it, the lamp had gone out. "Then I'll drink my water in the dark," she said - but then, without warning, the jug fell out of her hands, and broke into a thousand pieces. At that point she cried out, loud, loud, loud, almot loud enough to set the whole house on fire: "God! God!" she cried, "What are You trying to do to me?"

"Be careful," a Voice answered. "If you really want me to, I'll fill your heart with all the pleasures of This World, and empty it of all your care for Me. You want something and I want something, and these desires cannot be mixed."

After this, Rabi'a gave up all wordly hope.

Kali

My Mother is the principle of consciousness. She is Akhanda Satchidananda; indivisible Reality, Awareness, and Bliss. The night sky between the stars is perfectly black. The waters of the ocean depths are the same; The infinite is always mysteriously dark. This inebriating darkness is my beloved Kali.
-Sri Ramakrishna
