Perfect Forgetfulness

"It takes tremendous energy to remember things. This is why Kundalini never gets an opportunity to wake up in most people, much less rise. So long as your memory is strongly connected to your own karmas all of Kundalini's energy will be taken up just in the act of remembering who you are... ...in order to make Kundalini wake completely you must forget to identify even with the memories of past lives; you require perfect forgetfulness."

Sister Catherine speaks of her unity with God in the following terms

"I am where I was before I was created: that place is purely God and God. There are neither angels nor saints, nor choir, nor this nor that. Many people speak of eight heavens and of nine choirs. They are not where I am. You should know that everything stated in such a way and presented to people in images is but an incitement to seek God. Realise that in God is nothing but God. You must also understand that no soul may come unto God before it has become God as it was before it was created. No one may come into the naked Godhead except the one who is naked as he was when he flowed out of God. The masters say that no one may enter here as long as he has any attachment to lower things, even if it is only as much as the tip of a needle can carry." Ego

Reality is simply the loss of ego.
Destroy the ego by seeking its identity.
Because the ego is not a real entity
it will automatically vanish
and reality will shine forth by itself.

Sri Ramakrishna on Karma

"It is said in the scriptures that only those who have been charitable in their former births get money in this life. But to tell you the truth, this world is God's maya. And there are many confusing things in this realm of maya. One cannot comprehend them.

God has revealed to me that only the Paramatman, whom the Vedas describe as the Pure Soul, is immutable, like Mount Sumeru, unattached, and beyond pain and pleasure. There is much confusion in this world of His maya. One can by no means say that "this" will come after "that" or "this" will produce "that"."
